Vermont Wedding Photographer

If you’ve ever watched any Disney movie you know that they’re masters of painting a love story in the animated sense, I use my photography skills to help paint their story through my art. When arriving at the engagement session in Hubbardton, Vermont at the Taconic Mountains Ramble. I knew something absolutely amazing was about to unfold in front of my camera.

I’m not sure how I know this, but I just know that true love has a look. This couple totally and wholly embraces their love for each other, the way their eyes meet each other it’s as if they’re smiling at each other. I know I mentioned it to them during their engagement photos, that I could see their love. It's as if when their eyes meet, they’re smiling back with the connection that is everlasting.

I’m not sure they believed me at the moment. I find it captivating that someone’s love can be seen by those who’re looking for it. Yes, you might think I’m losing my mind. I think that knowing people and how they behave really makes all the difference. Who said studying psychology wouldn't pay off.

It shows that love is seen with a different type of lens, one that shines through the darkness in today's world. Most people don't see or ignore how love surrounds a couple, their eyes and hearts are not open to it. Tim (Groom to be) & Kelsey (Bride to be) beam their love for everyone to see, you can't help but smile and laugh when you're in their presence their joy and love making the job of a wedding photographer not even feel like work.

As we moved around the variety of beautiful areas, my favorites happen up on a hill that showed the beauty that
Vermont affords me. Here are some of my favorite engagement photos from their session in Hubbardton, Vermont.

Quechee Vermont Wedding Photography

The Wedding day is upon us, pulling up to the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms was stunning the white
fence that makes a clean line up the driveway, to a beautiful red barn with an adjacent wedding tent attached to the breathtaking historic red barn. The wedding coordinator at the venue was super friendly and inviting, she showed me around since I had never photographed at the venue before. I think this is so hit or miss when you arrive at the venue not knowing how that first initial meeting will go. It was a splendid time, found some great spots for wedding portraits.

If there was one other thing besides wedding photography I would say to really plan on putting into your wedding budget it would be profressional makeup and hair. This makes everyone involved feel more special on your big day.

The wedding ceremony started with a bit of humor with a quote from Princess Bride, “Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what brings us togewah today.” This totally sets the mood and tone of the wedding. Adding humor to the love that was in the air, was something that doesn’t always happen. The Bride’s brother delivered a heartfelt service.

I always arrive extra early when I'm photographing a wedding at a venue that I haven’t previously been to before. This allows my own creativity to start envisioning what I think will be great spots for photographs of the couple after their wedding ceremony.

Having this time to look around is priceless and affords me time to take more time in crafting portraits of a couple so that they will have wedding photos that become an heirloom that they can pass down. Being that the weather and climate in Vermont can change at a moment's notice, you’ve got to be prepared to make
things happen so that lighting can be captivating and set their portraits apart from any previous wedding I’ve photographed.

Noticing that it was overcast and I really want to create some sunshine we used an off-camera flash with an orange-colored gel with a diffuser from the folks over at Magmod to create this photograph.
Weddings are always evolving and so is the light that's available knowing what to do and how to add or subtract from the natural light is our job at B Farnum Photography.

Wedding Reception

As the wedding reception started the guests filed in, many of them admiring the wonderful table decor and floral arrangements by the wonderful folks at New Leaf Organics. The fun really started to pick up when everyone noticed the photo booth tucked in the corner of the tent. Once the first flash fires, everyone takes notice to see what’s going on over there. I love this aspect of the wedding reception, everyone participates from young to old to everyone in between.

I always make a custom layout for each wedding, generally choosing an option that has at least three images so that it can compile an interesting animated gif. The more you move and the bigger the change in the image the funnier the gif generally is. Here are some examples of the photo booth in use.

'Owl' you need is love but cupcakes are definitely a hit over at the dessert table. A to Z Cakes
made these Sugar succulents & buttercream blooms topping off chocolate raspberry, vanilla, Vermont maple, pumpkin or apple spice, and cinnamon sugar cupcakes.

As many weddings as I've photographed in Quechee and the surroundin
g area I always find myself capturing creative photographs on this special day. It truly is an art. It's one of the times in life where joy can be seen in the faces of your family, when you're shooting in a documentary style, they really don't even know you're there.

Wedding Vendors who helped make this wedding day and throughout the planning process, seamless and one to be remembered.

Wedding Vendor Team: Not only do I speak highly of them, but the photography also shows the great job they do and helps make my wedding photography business fun, creative, and sim
ply an absolute dream. When a couple goes into their wedding photograph gallery, or I help them through the process of designing a wedding album. These wedding detail pictures help capture the wedding ceremony, formal wedding photographs, wedding reception tying every little bit of a wedding day that much easier. Without the wedding vendors, we are just photographing

As one of the best wedding photographers in Vermont with plenty of reviews on wedding wire and the knot. Whether you are in need of an elopement, destination wedding photographer, engagement sessions in downtown Burlington, New York, or around New England we will work with you to make sure your photoshoot goes how you envision it.

We know that you've seen all of the latest and greatest on all of the wedding websites and wedding magazines so we want to make sure we are staying current on all of the wedding photography trends that
will fit within our style, making sure that we stay true to our brand and vision at B. Farnum Photography. As one of many Vermont wedding photographers we know you have other options, so continuing to learn and grow as a wedding photographer is what we really not our energy into in the slow season (Winter).

What I've learned from being a professional photographer in Vermont when I'm in front of the camera I love taking wedding portraits of couples getting married. I really like taking my time on their big day to make sure that I'm true to my own photography style. I do love taking candid photographs, but I feel as if it's still needed to pose couples to make those special moments between brides and grooms. It is sometimes difficult to gather a large wedding party to get everyone in for photographs, this wedding party was easy to work with, and made sure they were all around for the formal portraits.
